How To Explain "God" To A 7-Year Old | Michael Beckwith

P.S. The backstory: I'm very much against the idea of teaching religion to young kids. I think it is one of the worst things we do as parents today. So I raised my son as a scientist, so he'd never have over-eager relatives or schools hammer him with ideas from organized religion that lead to so much guilt and shame.
But there is a problem. Science can't explain everything.
You see, shortly before we shot this video, I took my son to his first funeral. How do I comfort a 7-year-old scientist and explain the death of a family member?
Thus as my son gets older, I now teach him ideas from various world religions, and philosophies so he can decide for himself the big questions like what is God and what happens when we die.
This was a video where I asked one of the world's top spiritual teachers to explain his idea of "God" to Hayden. I'll be asking the same question to Muslims, Christians, Rabbis, atheist and more. This way, my son gets exposure to all world philosophies. (This is another form of immunization against dogma, the only way to teach religion is to teach ALL religions.)
Anyway, hope you enjoy Michael's explanation.
How would YOU explain God? (smile)
