Yesterday,
the Congregation of Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) and the United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) launched a crackdown on the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR),
an umbrella group that represents more than 80 percent of the 57,000 women
religious in the United States.
The following is a statement from Erin Saiz Hanna,
Executive Director of Women’s Ordination Conference.
WASHINGTON, DC - When
the Vatican first launched its investigation of the Leadership Conference of
Women Religious (LCWR) in 2009, we were warned that the outcome could be
severe. Yet nothing could brace me for the shock that I would feel actually
seeing their document in writing yesterday. This most serious attack on the
women who have been the backbone of the Church in this country for centuries
has obliterated what little moral credibility the hierarchy once had with the
people of God.
Once
again, the Roman Catholic hierarchy's bullying has intentionally created an
atmosphere of fear and intimidation, and has proved that they will stop at
nothing to attempt to control the lives of women--threatening justice, charity,
and service in their wake.
The CDF (formerly the Office of the
Inquisition) accuses the LCWR of
"radical feminist themes" and "corporate dissent" as the
need for this "call for renewal." Their agenda is very clear: they
are declaring war on the right of conscience and the right of women to be
agents in their own lives. These fear tactics will not work nor will it
distract us from the hierarchy's own corruption and scandal that is devastating
our Church.
Having
had the privilege of being educated by women religious, there is one thing I am
certain of - the power of community. Over the centuries, Catholic sisters have
responded to some of our nationʼs most difficult trials and when faced with adversity,
women religious have stood courageously together with faith as their shield. I
am confident that they will respond to this recent trial with courage and grace.
As the
leaders of LCWR process this announcement and take time to discern, the Women's
Ordination Conference (WOC) membership will hold them in prayer. WOC affirms
and celebrates the prophetic works of women religious. We stand in solidarity
with the millions of Catholics in this country who acknowledge women religious
as pioneers of social justice, advocates for peace, and women of dignity.

എന്ന പാപം ഒഴിവാക്കുവാന്‍ സാധിച്ചു. കത്തോലിക്കാസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളില്‍ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ക്കും ഗര്‍ഭം അലസ്സിപ്പിക്കല്‍ മാര്‍ഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഹെല്‍ത്ത് ഇന്‍ഷുറന്‍സ് നല്‍കണമെന്ന് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടതും
ഒബാമയ്ക്ക് എതിരായി തിരിച്ചു.
അമ്മയെ രക്ഷിക്കുവാന്‍ നടത്തിയ ഒരു ശ്രമത്തില്‍ ഗര്‍ഭത്തിലെ ഭ്രൂണം നശിപ്പിക്കുവാന്‍ അനുവാദം കൊടുത്ത ഒരു ഹോസ്പ്പിറ്റലിലെ കന്യാസ്ത്രി അദ്മിനീസ്റ്ററെ സഭയില്‍ നിന്നു പുറത്താക്കിയതും അമേരിക്കന്‍ സഭയില്‍ ഒച്ചപ്പാട് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നു.
വത്തിക്കാനും അതിന്റെ അമേരിക്കന്‍
ഉപവിഭാഗമായ യു എസ്‌ സി സി ബി യ്ക്കും സാമൂഹ്യ ഉള്‍കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകള്‍ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുവെന്നു വേണം കണക്കാക്കുവാന്‍.
കന്യാസ്ത്രികളുടെ പൊതുവായ തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ എടുക്കേണ്ടത് പുരുഷന്മാരായ ബിഷപ്പുമാരും അവരുടെ മേലാള്മാരുമോ? എന്തു കാടന്‍ നിയമങ്ങള്‍? സ്കൂളുകളിലും ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിലും ക്ളിനിക്കിലും അഭയകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലും സാധുക്കള്‍ക്കുള്ള ഭക്ഷണവിതരണത്തിലും കന്യാസ്ത്രികളുടെ നിസ്തുലമായ സേവനം തുടരുന്നു.
ഇവരുടെ കറയില്ലാത്ത അര്‍പ്പണ സേവനമനോഭാവത്തെപ്പറ്റി ലോകംമുഴുവന്‍ അറിയാം. വേഷഭൂഷാദികളായി ജോക്കറായി മെത്രാന്‍ലോകം അരമനകളില്‍ വസിച്ചതല്ലാതെ ഇവരുടെ സേവനങ്ങളില്‍ പങ്കു ചേര്‍ന്നിട്ടില്ല. എന്നിട്ടും കന്യാസ്ത്രീ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളില്‍ കാലത്തിനു അനുസ്സരിച്ച് സ്വന്തമായി തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ എടുക്കുവാന്‍ ഇവരെ അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസംകൊണ്ടും പരിശീലനംകൊണ്ടും കന്യാസ്ത്രികള്‍ മെത്രാന്മാരെക്കാള്‍ മുന്തിയവര്‍ആണ്. തലയില്‍ ഒന്നുമില്ലാത്ത ഈ പുരോഹിതശ്രേഷ്ടര്‍ തലപ്പത്തിരുന്നുകൊണ്ട് തീരുമാനങ്ങളും എടുക്കുന്നു.
സ്ത്രീ വിവേചനങ്ങള്‍ കാടന്‍ യുഗങ്ങള്‍പോലെ ഇന്നും അടിച്ചേല്‍പ്പിക്കുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും പതിനാലു മണിക്കൂറില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ജോലി ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട്
രാജകീയ വേഷങ്ങളെ പൂജിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും ജനം വായും പൊതി ജീവിക്കുന്നത് സംസ്കാര ലോകത്തിനുതന്നെ അപമാനമാണ്.
ഈ സഭയുടെ പേരാണ് ഹോളി മദര്‍ ചര്‍ച്.ഹാഹാ!!!ഇന്നു പുരോഹിതലോകം സദാചാരത്തിന്‍റെയും വിശ്വാസത്തിന്‍റെയും ആധികാരിക ഗുരുക്കള്‍, ഇനി അര്‍ത്ഥമാക്കേണ്ടത് ഇങ്ങനെ "പ്രിയ പുരോഹിത പിതാക്കളുടെ സദാചാര ലോകമേ വിശ്വാസ സത്യങ്ങളെ ഇനി മേല്‍ ബാലബാലികമാരെ വ്യപിചരിച്ചു പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു കൊള്ളൂ, സഭാമാതാവ് നിന്നെ ഒരു കഴുക നിയമങ്ങള്‍ക്കും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കാതെ തള്ളകോഴികള്‍ പിള്ളകോഴികളെ വെയ്ക്കുംപോലെ എന്‍റെ ചിറകിന്‍ കീഴില്‍ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു വെച്ചുകൊള്ളാം. ആമേന്‍.
